5 Healthy Recipes to Stuff in Your Dog’s KONG

5 Healthy Recipes to Stuff in Your Dog’s KONG

Since 1970, KONG toys have been a household name for dog owners, and with good reason! Not only are many of our toys durable for play, but they also double as a physically and mentally stimulating way for pups to eat. The KONG Classic in particular is a fan-favorite, and can be filled with anything from peanut butter to frozen kibble. If you’re wanting to indulge your dog in a special treat that’s still good for them, stuff their KONG with one of these healthy recipes.

1. Cube Chillers

With treats from your KONG Club box, blueberries, and bananas, you can create a refreshing, sweet snack for your best friend.

Ingredients

  • 12 small KONG Snacks
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • KONG Classic

Place ingredients into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid. Place the frozen cube into KONG Classic!

2. Toby’s Tasty Treat

Is your dog a fan of veggies? Well, if they aren’t now, this recipe might change their mind. Peanut butter and sweet potato add delicious flavor to these shredded veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Zucchini
  • 1 Tablespoon KONG Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Potato
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for a greater challenge.

3. Chicken Pot Pie

Who doesn’t love chicken pot pie? The ultimate comfort food. Create a simple — and simply delicious — deconstructed version with just a few ingredients. We guarantee your dog will love it!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Cooked Chicken
  • 1/2 Cup Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Frozen Peas and Carrots
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for a greater challenge.

4. Earth Day

A meal that celebrates the environment with natural ingredients. Fill with green veggies (and some orange ones), plus some brown rice for added fiber.

  • 1/2 cup fresh peas
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup shredded zucchini
  • 1/2 cup brown rice
  • KONG Classic

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for a greater challenge.

5. Pup-permint

Herbs add a fancy touch to this healthy feast. It also includes plain yogurt (make sure it doesn’t have added sugar) that gives them healthy probiotics, apples, and peanut butter. It’s sure to have them licking their lips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup diced apples
  • KONG Classic
  • KONG Peanut Butter Spread

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Split mixture between KONGs and freeze for a greater challenge.

The best part is that you can switch out any of these ingredients to fit your dog’s taste preferences or health needs. And if you want to be really creative, try making your own unique recipe and share it with us on social. We’d love to see it!
